Congradulations to Pro.f Jiang on winning the first prize of the 4th Outstanding Achievements of Law Awards

On February 28th, the 4th Outstanding Achievements of Law Awards ceremony was held in Beijing. Wang Lequan, Chairman of China Law Society, Chen Jiping, both Secretary of Party Committee of China Law Society and Permanent Deputy Chairman, as well as other distinguished government officers and scholars, attended the ceremony. It was hosted by Zhang Wenxian, and in the ceremony Zhang Sujun announced Decisions on Praise for the 4th Outstanding Achievements of Law. Jiang Yue, professor of XMU Law School, was invited to the ceremony and awarded both a certificate and trophy of fire prize in the category of literature.

                                                                                                   

Marriage and Family Law of 20th Century: From Tradition to Modernization, for which Prof. Jiang won the prize, is a 695 thousand remarkable book, published by the China Social Sciences Press on April 2015.

                                                                                                   

The embryo of the book is the research Tradition and Modernization of Chinese Marriage and Family Law, a Nation Social Sciences founding project undertaken by Prof. Jiang. In 2014, the research was graded as “outstanding” and included into National Achievements Library of Philosophy and Social Sciences. Afterwards it was published according to requirements by Nation Philosophy and Social Sciences Planning office, which are “unified identification, unified cover, unified format, and unified standard”.

Outstanding Achievements of Law Awards, approved by both the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council, is a top academic honor in the field of Law. Nomination of the 4th Outstanding Achievements of Law Awards was initiated on March 30th ,2017. Books and papers relevant to the field of law and published between January 1st, 2011 and December 31st , 2016 are qualified for nomination. In the category of literature, 5 won the first prize, 11 won the second, and 15 won the third. In the category of paper, 4 won the first, 9 won the second, and 13 won the third. The process of nomination and selection, under the supervision of the people, was transparent and fair.
